#3041 closed enhancement (fixed)

Configure syslog with Ansible

Reported by: dustin Owned by: dustin

Description

The service hosts and jails mostly have their syslogs configured to send messages to 192.168.80.51. I'm not sure what that host is (reverse DNS doesn't work), but we should configure it with Ansible.

Where did you get this IP address? :)

I don't see @192.168.80.51 in any of the serviceN /etc/syslog.conf. I do see it all of the jails however.

Found this role, though I am not sure how is it is to use.

newsyslog is something of a misnomer -- it just rotates logs. The usual syslog handles actual logging.
