#2836 closed enhancement (fixed)

virtualenv provides new install path

Reported by: Zancas Owned by: Zancas
Priority: minor Milestone: sys - other
Version: 0.8.9 Keywords:

I like to have project specific sets of the Python libraries, and distinct Python interpreters for each project. I use virtualenv to enable this kind of project-partitioning.

I'm following the docs here:

I'll be deviating from them to use virtualenv. I'll take notes, which can potentially augment the doc.

I ran:

mkdir build_slave_env
cd build_slave_env
virtualenv .
source bin/active
pip install buildbot-slave

while I've not experimented with the result yet, I suspect this is a good install process.

RunningBuildbotWithVirtualEnv might be helpful.

Alternately, since that's organized around setting up Buildbot for development, you should either edit the wiki page directly, or create a new one and link to it. No need to document in a bug :)
