#2543 new defect

GerritChangeSource should ignore incoming ref-updated events to refs/meta/config branch

Reported by: krf Owned by:
Priority: major Milestone: 0.9.+
Version: 0.8.7p1 Keywords: gerrit
Cc:

Description

The branch 'refs/meta/config' [1] contains some project specific rules for Gerrit. It's a branch that contains only a few config files for parametrizing Gerrit. There are no project-related source files.

Gerrit sends out 'ref-updated' events for that branch and hence builds will be triggered in Buildbot if you configured the GerritChangeSource? change source. This will of course fail, because this particular branch contains no source files.

GerritChangeSource? should ignore that branch completely, imo.

I believe such changes can be easily filtered with the ChangeFilter?.

If you are looking for a different solution, I'd appreciate some details why ChangeFilter? is not suitable.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
