• update release notes from dustin's changes
• no additional code
• push everything else out to 0.7.9
• get the !$@# thing released this time :-)

No longer goals:

• commit everything from dustin's tree
• commit all the trivial patches in trac
• commit all the small + well-discussed patches in trac
• commit mercurial in-repo branch support patches
